The Club has recently managed to get a WebCam placed in the Distillery. We will also be mounting a gauge in view of the WebCam. This will allow anglers to assess the state of the river without needing to visit in person. The camera can be viewed at this address

Club Rules (season ticket amendment)

Following discussion the committee has reviewed the permit rules and have amended the rule around the purchase of £60 permits. From this season forward those who choose to purchase their season ticket after the 15th March (£45 cut off date) will be permitted to fish until 31st October as per all members. This is contrary to the date of the 06th October which is currently stated on our rules sheet but will be updated going forward.

Tight lines for the season ahead.

Glenrothes Town Park

Just a quick note to advise that our club now has the lease rights from Crown Estates on this stretch of the river therefore club members now have the right to fish it.  Anyone found fishing without a River Leven Angling Club permit will be asked to leave. Signage will be erected in due course advising of this change.

Pacific Pink Salmon (Update)

There has been reports of Pacific (pink) salmon being caught on the river.

The club has taken advice and these should be removed from the river and the committee notified accordingly. Ideally the Forth Fisheries Board would like to take samples of any such fish caught so the sooner the committee is advised the better.

Under no circumstances will the R.L.A.C. accept the killing of an Atlantic salmon by ‘mistake’!

The attached advice note was recently received by the committee and is posted here for information / action if required.

Armadale Tracking Project – Tags Wanted – Reward

Forth DSFB is involved in a tracking project with Marine Scotland and other DSFBs and Fisheries Trust.  Fish will be tagged at Armadale and receivers are being deployed across Scotland.  The Forth has been allocated ten and these are being located as agreed with MS and landowners and proprietors.  We are instructed to locate these on the Forth and Teith system (although we are looking to put one on the Allan).

Please see below from Marine Scotland

Marine Scotland (in conjunction with local DSFBs and Fisheries Trust) is tracking salmon from July 2017 and would like your help.

If you catch a salmon with a tag (as shown in the attached photograph) near the dorsal
fin, then please remove it by cutting through the plastic cord to remove the acoustic tag
(black cylinder). Please note that the colour of the cord may vary from yellow.

Please send the acoustic tag, also with a note of day and location of capture, to:

Armadale Tracking,
Freshwater Fisheries Laboratory,
Faskally,
Pitlochry,
PH16 5LB

Please enclose your name, postal and email (if applicable) address and we will send
you £20 in reward.

If you have any other information about the fish (eg a photo, length, sex) then please
include it when you send in the tag. However, please do not delay the safe return of the
fish to the water to obtain any such information.
